What are currency preferences?

When shopping on our sites, you may notice multiple currency types: onsite currency, preferred currency, and order payment currency.

Onsite currency: The onsite currency is the default shopping currency.

Preferred currency: Preferred currency is informational and shows how much an item may be based on the onsite or order payment currency, but is not meant to be a guarantee. It is shown in parenthesis by the onsite and payment price.
To set a preferred currency:

  1. Go to My Account
  2. Select My Account Information
  3. Select your preferred Currency
  4. Select Save Changes

Order payment currency: Your order payment currency defines your Order total price. This is the amount you will be charged when your order is placed. Note, if you choose to pay a seller directly, they may provide an invoice in their local currency.

You can change your payment currency from the Review your order page:

  1. Review your Order Summary
  2. Use the radio button to change Selected payment currency.

You can review a list of our other payment currencies by selecting Change currency.

Once you have selected a payment currency, we’ll display it as your preferred currency on future visits. If it matches an onsite currency, no preferred currency will be shown.

How do exchange rates work?

When you shop with us, you can browse for millions of items from sellers around the world. Sellers may list their items in a currency other than the onsite or payment currency.

When necessary, we will convert the seller’s list price to your payment currency. In this case, the price in your order payment currency will be determined based on the current effective exchange rate plus the cost to cover currency conversion and any short-term rate fluctuations. The effective exchange rates are updated regularly based on current market values which are outside of our control.

Are there any extra fees or charges?

Your bank or credit card provider may apply a fee for cross-border purchases, if you order in a currency other than your credit card’s currency, or if your card is being charged or refunded. If this happens, we recommend that you contact your bank or credit card provider for more information.
