The Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers (ANZAAB)
Search books from ANZAAB sellers
The ANZAAB was formed in 1977 to promote the standing, welfare, and growth of the local antiquarian book business. It seeks to promote best practices in antiquarian bookselling and to discourage practices capable of bringing disrepute to antiquarian bookselling. In particular, the Association seeks to encourage its members to achieve high standards of accuracy in descriptions of materials offered for sale.
One of the Association's main activities is the organization of book fairs. There is a Rare Book Fair held in Melbourne and Sydney each year. It also voices opinions on library policy and speaks to public and political questions relevant to the business. Association membership is open to booksellers who have, for a certain number of years, been engaged full-time in the buying and selling of old or secondhand books of some worth or consequence, and who are recognized for their expertise and good name.
There are more than 50 members within the ANZAAB and over half of them list their items on AbeBooks. AbeBooks is proud to showcase the diverse members of the ANZAAB and to celebrate their commitment to the highest standards of bookselling.
